RULES AND DISCIPLINE
Rules and Discipline Process
Wise County Youth Soccer Association has adopted a policy of graduated sanctions process for actions deemed detrimental to the safety and well-being of the membership and inconsistent with the goals and beliefs of the organization.
In furtherance of the policy, Wise County Youth Soccer Association submits all requests for adjudication of rules violation and discipline to a standing committee know as the Rules and Discipline Committee. The R&D Committee shall be comprised of the R&D Commissioner and at least two other members. Adjudication of any rules shall be deemed complete when this committee submits its recommendation to the President of Wise County Youth Soccer Association.
All members of Wise County Youth Soccer Association are governed by this policy including, but not limited to; players, coaches, volunteers, referees, parents and board members. Behaviors that are considered to be unsportsmanlike are subject to submission to the R&D Committee as well as failure to adhere to any portion of the “Code of Conduct”.
Progressive disciplinary measures are individual in nature and prediction of all possible scenarios and outcomes is unlikely. The intent of the R&D Committee is remediation and not punitive, although the committee does issue sanctions. The general progression of sanctions is as follows:
Verbal Warning
Written Warning
Suspension-variable
Expulsion-variable and/or permanent
The following offenses result in immediate referral to the R&D Committee for review:
Three yellow cards in one season
Any red card
Verbal assault of any member or non-member during a match
Physical assault of any member or non-member during a match
Unsportsmanlike behavior (not covered by referee)
